Sony Ericsson W890i Walkman Mobile Phone

Sony Ericsson has recently launched in India its new Candybar style Walkman range of mobilephone, the Sony-Ericsson W890i Walkman Mobilephone which features 2.0-inch 265K TFT display, 3.15 Megapixels auto-focus digital camera, Walkman v3.0 series media player, ultrafast HSCSD wireless connection, EDGE connectivity options and integrated Mega Bass, Stereo Widening Speakers.

The quad band GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz and EDGE network along with HSCSD (High-Speed Circuit-Switched Data) and 3G HSDPA network ready Sony Ericsson W890i mobilephone has 240 x 320 pixels, 2.0 inches, 262,144-colours TFT display. A five-way directional button on the front of the device controls most of the mobilephone’s menus and features.

The Sony Wricsson W890i Walkman mobilephone comes with 32 MB shared internal memory and it supports Memory Stick Micro (M2) card with up to 4 GB maximum memory storage. The main internal storage memory allows storage of up to 1000 phone numbers and handset also offers 30 dialed, 30 received, 30 missed calls records.

Data Connectivity

3.15 MP Digital Camera

The Sony-Ericsson W890i Walkman mobilephone sports a top class 3.15 Megapixels digital camera that offers 2.5x digital zoom (30 steps) – for both still and video shooting – at maximum resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels. The VideoDJ feature allows the user to add together several chunks of recorded or downloaded video clips to create a continuous video picture which can be further enhanced with music or sound clips.

The Sony Ericsson W890i’s digital camera is also equipped with autofocus technology (green ractangle display while shooting) and comes with a powerful integrated flash. The shooting mode supports various options for still and video recording under several adjustable shooting conditions.

The phone is also captures videos in 3GP format with a resolution of 176 x 144 pixels. Recording length is only limited by the available free space on the memory card.

Media Player

The Sony Ericsson W890i Walkman mobilephone is equipped with full featured Walkman Mediaplayer v3.0, which offers top-quality sound with hosts of media player features. The phone has integrated speakers and comes with high-quality Sony headphones. One can play, rewind, fast forward, equalise, shuffle tracks and create playlists – just like in any other digital music player.

An optional external dual stereo speakers can play music quite loud and clear. The Media Player supports MP3, AAC and MPEG4 files and file transfer is fairly fast using USB v2.0 interface. The handset also provides facility to gain access to an online music store directly for downloading music tracks straight into the handset.

In addition, one can subscribe to music and video podcasts and transfer them to your phone via Sony Ericsson Media Manager software (included on CD in phone kit) and enjoy on the go.

FM Radio With RDS

The Sony Ericsson W890i also features an integrated FM Radio with RDS and 20 station memory. The radio can be played through the loud speaker as well. The radio is stereophonic reception and the phone is capable of receiving very clear and stable signal without any interferences in the broadcast.

The RDS feature of FM Radion technology in Sony Ericsson W890i enables display of the radio station name or even additional information – like artists’ names or songs’ titles and duration etc. The FM Radio offers 20 stations memory and allows frequency scale of 87.5 up to 108.0 MHz.

The SOny Ericsson W890i Walkman phone also sports a unique in Flight mode, once engaged/activated the radio function is turned off so it doesn’t disturb sensitive aircraft communication and control equipments.
