Verizon Samsung Continuum Galaxy S Smartphone
Samsung officially announced its Continuum, a Galaxy S smartphone for Verizon Wireless. The Continuum is the world’s first smartphone to have a dedicated ticket display which provides users with up-to-the-minute news, sports, finance and social networking updates for maximized multitasking.
The Samsung Continuum (model SCH-I400) comes with a 3.4-inch Super AMOLED main touchscreen display and a 1.8-inch Interactive Super AMOLED ticker display. It is powered by a 1GHz Samsung Cortex A8 Hummingbird processor. The phone has a 5 Megapixel camera with LED flash, 720p HD video recording, six-axis sensor, Bluetooth and WiFi 802.11b/g/n. Though a newly released phone, the Continuum runs Android 2.1 OS instead of 2.2. Unlike other Android smartphones, the dual-screen phone is pre-loaded with Bing Maps and Bing Search.
Samsung Continuum has a preinstalled 8GB microSD memory card. It supports AllShare for media sharing with DLNA certified devices.It will be for $199.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate with a new two-year contract.
